The Spellbound Echo - Ivy Pines

Here I am, breaking news once again! I don't know if you've seen it, but the battle grounds in SilverSprings is open for business!!! 

I hear it has classes for martial arts such as Karate and Taekwando, while also offering Kickboxing and Self-Defense classes. 

I even heard it has some kind of pet class but I can't very well imagine a dog doing Jujutsu... 

Whatever the case, the Battle Grounds in Silver Springs is now open!!

In other news, I've heard that the garden in RavensWatch is attracting new animals, but unless he's talking about crows, I think that little birdy is insane. However, it is still nice to get some berries and find the occassional trinket. I don't think I mind it.

You heard it here first, we have games and we have prizes!

So what are the games?

First, we have a game you can play daily. It's called Higher or Lower? and it's really as simple as the name suggests. You have 3 guesses to figure out a number and get a prize. It will tell you if the number is higher or lower than your last guess.

If you win, you get 500 gold pieces! But even if you don't get the number right, you get 250 gold pieces just for playing so it's worth it to do it every day!

Next, we have a bit of a competition. Candy Drop is a competitive game where you catch as many candies as you can while avoiding the bombs.

Once a month (either on the 1st or when I get around to it... sorry), I will give medals equal to 1000 gold pieces for first place and 375 gold pieces for second and erase the leaderboard. 

Make sure to use your Katrya username in the game so I know who to give the medals to. Any unknown names will be skipped over for first or second place.

You can keep the medals, but they don't do anything and you can't trade them, so most people will probably sell them for some quick cash.

Yes! After a TON of time coding and writing, Character Quests are finished. 

What does this mean? 

Each day (server time), you can search through Sodoria for a character that needs your help with something. They'll either need some gold or an item fetched for them, but they'll always have something in return worth more gold than you spent!

In addition, you can take more than a day to complete a quest, but you won't get a new one until you skip or complete the current one. The new quest will (most likely) be with a different character.

However, many quests need several items you can only get from fishing or harvesting berries, so it's a good idea to only sell items labeled "trash" if you're strapped for cash. After all, one man's trash is another man's treasure.

You read that right! It's Beta Testing Time!!! 

What this means for you:

1. You can sign up now! 
2. The site is (mostly) functional. Please report any bugs you find as a DM to dlithehil or as an email to dlithehil@ashenblade.click. (You should be able to just click one of those links...)

There's just a few more things for me to add to get this site where I want it (aka before adding way too much... I gotta break things down, because this is still a lot...)

1. The Berry Patch. This will be a way to get berries to grow your adoptables as well as potential loot bags with goodies inside.
2. The Falls. This will be a place to get (mostly) trinkets to sell for extra cash. 
   • For both of the above, certain character quests may require something you can only find in those areas.
3. Speaking of Character Quests… They are technically implemented already, as you can click around town and, once per day (though there’s no time limit to complete a quest), find someone who needs your help with something (It will say “[Character] has a quest for you!” above their image map.) However, right now, it will just automatically complete the quest… because there are no quests yet… I have them planned; I just have to actually type them…
4. Hero Quests. These will be found in the tavern next to our lovely Anna Wayfinder. (I’ll get to character introductions in a minute.) These quests are also once a day with no actual time limit. These quests will be more involved than Character Quests, but will have better rewards usually.
5. Volcano Quests. You may have noticed a certain question mark on the main map. This will go away in due time except under very specific circumstances. These quests won’t have as good of rewards because you will be aiming for the ultimate reward – the salvation of Sodoria. Anyway, if you couldn’t tell, these quests are pretty much solely for lore. They’re in no way required or expected of you.
6. Battle Grounds. You may have also noticed that your creatures have stats. That is no accident, as I intend to implement a training system and NPC battle system. I also need to implement health, but that’s a whole other matter. Anyway, that will be coming soon!

Without further ado… Character Introductions!!!

In Arlo’s Tower (marked by a paw print) –

Arlo Pike is a reaper-in-training who got stuck on this plane when Depora cast her magic bubble over the realm. He sells Spoopies to loving people and, when you show that you truly care about them, is extremely friendly.

In Ursabeth’s Observatory (marked by a star) –

Ursabeth is a dark-elf astronomer who became a shopkeeper when Depora cast her spell. She may seem a bit rude, but she really just cares that she is giving her Cosmics to wholesome people who will take good care of them. She is also working on her Trinket shop (coming soon).

In Silver Springs

Here, we find Tom’s Treats, ran by our very own Tomithy. Tom is a great baker and loves all the creatures too much to allow Depora to exterminate them. He is great friends with all who take care of these creatures.

In RavensWatch

1. First, we have Aiden in the General Store. While not an official member of the Ravens, he cares deeply about all the creatures they are saving, even if he is a little scared of the Spoopies.
2. Next, in the garden you’ll find Ezra. Unlike Ursa, Ezra actually is a bit pretentious (it’s his elvish heritage /jk). He does, however, care deeply about the creatures of Sodoria, especially the ones he attracted here himself.
3. Beside the garden is Gobgob’s Potion Stand. Gobgob is an adorable (if a little dumb) goblin who excels at potion-brewing. He tries his hardest but can get a little excitable. He hopes to change the world’s view on goblin-kind away from the brutish annoyances that most adventurers seem to have to deal with and to a group of tiny friends. While he loves all the creatures of Sodoria, he has a select few he is especially fond of.
4. Behind Gobgob’s Potion Stand is Callie’s house. Callie is a demonkin, and like many of her kind, she just wants a quiet surface life. However, that doesn’t stop her from being an active member of the Ravens. She collects the eggs of Critters, or creatures otherwise without a home. She loves her underdogs.
5. Finally, in the tavern, you will meet Anna Wayfinder (when I get it up). Once an adventurer herself, she now gives quests to younger adventurers looking to get started on their journey. She would go with them, but a battle scar has left her unable to fight. She loves seeing the care and compassion given to the creatures of Sodoria by the adventurers under her wing.
